Methods: The training aims, training periods and hours and training methods listed in the Clinical Nursing Practice Guidelines for general \"nursing skills\" that were prepared between 1974 and 1985 for \"A\" Japanese Red Cross School of Nursing were analyzed from the perspective of the acquisition of nursing skills. Results : The clinical nursing practice for general \"nursing skills\" was divided into two, that were Session I and Session II. The categories of acquisition of nursing skills regarding the aims in the clinical nursing practice were \"Communication Skills, Physical Observations and the Plactice of Fundamental Nursing Skills\" and \"Giving Assistance on the Daily Living to the Target Patients and Practicing Supporting Skills for the Medical Treatment\". Conclusions : For the acquisition of nursing skills, students observed the scenes of mutual activities of nurses and patients, imitated those nurses, implemented partial training, and implemented the entire training at last.
