Method: The subject was a mother who was a housewife in a nuclear family. Data were collected every month using a pedometer to measure physical activity, and a questionnaire to assess her symptoms of fatigue and her emotional reaction to her children. Results: The data indicated that the mother's physical activity increased after the birth of her second child. The symptoms of fatigue increased in the first four months after the birth. The mother was also found to have a stronger negative emotional reaction to the second child than to the first child.
